Different types of MgO
Before you begin, there are three main types of MgO you need to understand. They are classified according to their uses and are usually divided into magnesium oxide for electric heating elements, cable-grade magnesium oxide, and hot plate powder.
The first is MgO for electric heating elements. This is our main product. It is divided into three types of MgO powder: high-temperature type, medium-temperature type, and low-temperature type. Each class has a suitable type of electric heating element.
Then, cable-grade magnesium oxide powder is suitable for various fireproof cables and is divided into medium and high-grade types according to insulation needs. Mainly used for insulation and temperature resistance, it allows operating temperatures up to 1300°C and is moisture-proof. Particle composition can be customized to customer applications.
Finally, hot plate powder is a moisture-proof magnesium oxide powder, commonly known as iron plate powder, suitable for the production of electric heating elements such as electric heating plates and oil presses.

The main advantages of magnesium oxide as an insulating and thermally conductive material
1. High thermal conductivity: The thermal conductivity of magnesium oxide increases as the temperature increases.
At normal temperature, the thermal conductivity of magnesium oxide is about 40 W/(m·K), while at high temperatures, its thermal conductivity can reach more than 200 W/(m·K). This high thermal conductivity makes magnesium oxide an ideal high-temperature thermal conductive material.
2. High temperature stability: MgO insulation material can operate stably for a long time at high temperatures without performance degradation due to temperature changes.
3. Good insulation performance: MgO has high insulation performance, which can effectively avoid the occurrence of electrical insulation breakdown problems.
